Welcome to the amazing world of art deco and interior design.

[Franz Iffland Bronze]

The works of art for sale in this gallery are authentic, genuine, representations of the art deco movement and style. It is becoming increasingly difficult to find authentic pieces in good condition. I now find that I have to travel increasingly long distances to search out collections for sale, and to source pieces worthy of display in the gallery, rejecting literally thousands of unsuitable items along the way.

The collector’s market has increased scarcity and inflated prices in recent years, making art deco one of the best performing investment sectors in the antiques art market. People have begun to appreciate the bewildering designs which are so evocative of the art deco movement.

The manufacturing processes necessary to create such wonderful objects were unique to this period of design. The craftsmanship (bronze sculptors and foundries, glass manufacturers, ivory carvers, etc) is now sadly extinct. At the turn of the 20th Century, there were 10,000 people employed by the bronze foundries around Paris. Few of these foundries survived the Second World War, and records of the artists involved have all but disappeared.

The disappearance of the trades, which turned out such fine, quality pieces, has meant that such pieces can never be re-created with such finesse and representation of the human form. This in turn will mean that pieces from the original art deco period will become increasingly rare as the few remaining pieces will be swallowed up by private collections and public museums.

I started collecting art deco more than 10 years ago, and have assembled a unique collection from all over the world.

Please take a few moments to view our current works for sale and admire the great legacy of the 20th Century’s greatest artists.
